from Colchester
(1) Take the main A134 into Sudbury and follow the directions above;
or
(2) Take the B1508 (via Wormingford) to Bures. In Bures, turn left for Lamarsh just after The Eight Bells pub. Pass the railway station on the left and stay on this road (passing through Lamarsh) for about 3 miles. The Henny Swan is on the left hand side.

from Braintree
Take the main A131 (signposted to Sudbury) and continue through Halstead. STAY on this road until you cross into Suffolk and approach Sudbury down the long Ballingdon Hill. At the bottom, turn right at the traffic lights and follow the road back into Essex, bearing left at the sign to Middleton. The Henny Swan is 1.5 miles on the right hand side.
